Fund-raising event

Parkinson Society Québec has launched a major returning fund-raising event to increase awareness of Parkinson's disease in business circles and to obtain corporate gifts in hopes of attaining the following goals:

  • Understand the needs of sufferers, as well as of their families and informal care givers.
  • Better serve our clients who often live outside of regions where they can find help.
  • Develop reciprocal partnerships to finance training of health care professionals, from general practitioners to attendants, in the home as well as in the hospital.
  • Develop and finance a training program in partnership with the four motor dysfunction clinics and more specifically, with the specialized nurses.
  • Increase contribution and support for research with Parkinson Society Canada.
  • Contribute to epidemiological studies of Parkinson's Disease in Québec.

In April, 2010, the first benefit evening with the theme was "Changeons notre regard sur la maladie de Parkinson" was held; the first part featured les Pas possibles* and Diane Dufresne.

On Monday, April 11, 2011, World Parkinson's Day, the second Parkinson Society Québec benefit evening will be held at the Monument National; the theme will be "Vivre mieux avec la maladie de Parkinson… c’est possible"; the first part will feature les Voix possibles* and Marc Hervieux.
